Supreme Court Rules on Mojave Desert Cross
Decision sends case back to lower court
WASHINGTON, April 28, 2010 — After seven months of deliberation, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed a lower court ruling to tear down a cross-shaped veterans memorial in the middle of the Mojave Desert Preserve, but the national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. said there is still work to be done before the 76-year-old memorial is seen again.

O.K. race fans, here’s some great news! On Saturday, June 12th, the VFW Foundation will be the title sponsor of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway titled the “VFW 200.”

Also during the event weekend, the VFW Foundation has arranged to honor over 250 troops and their families members to VIP treatment on Sunday, June 13 during the feature NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

Glen Gardner was elected Commander-In-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States on August 21, 2008, at the VFW 109th national convention, held in Orlando, Fla.
Glen Served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966-1970. He served as an aircraft mechanic with the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Aircraft Group 12 in Chu Lai, Vietnam, 1968-69.
Glen is a life member of Post 3359 Garland, TX.
Glen served as Adjutant/Quartermaster for the Department of Texas, 1984-2006.
